Gold Advisory Board

The GOLD Advisory Board (GOLD) is comprised of alumni who graduated in the last 10 years and will advise the Board of Trustees (BOT) and the President on the student experience and the strategic direction of the College.

Ryan P. Guilaran
Ryan P. Guilaran, PharmD '18, Chair

After graduating from the Vermont Campus in 2018, Ryan Guilaran worked as a Pharmacy Manager at CVS before transitioning to NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) in April 2021. At DOCCS, Ryan serves as Pharmacy Supervisor providing oversight for the MAT Program throughout NYS.

Anthony DiSpirito
Anthony DiSpirito, PharmD '10

Anthony DiSpirito is currently employed as Director of Pharmacy and Patient Care Service Director at Albany Medical Center Hospital. He, and the pharmacy team, are responsible for overseeing all pharmacy operations at the medical center including the Inpatient Pharmacy, Retail Pharmacy, Infusion Center, and associated off-site Albany Med locations. He is affiliated with professional organizations including and the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) and the New York State Council of Health-System Pharmacists (NYSCHP).

Kirsten Donato
Kirsten Donato, BS Health and Human Sciences '17

Kirsten Donato, MPH, CPH is a Project Manager II at Qlarant where she is the Quality Improvement Director for Maryland’s Medicaid contract. Her expertise includes behavioral health, substance abuse, health services research, research writing and development, data analysis, social determinants of health, and general public health and prevention.

Carolyn Enos
Carolyn Enos, PharmD '16

While at ACPHS, Carolyn Enos worked as a pharmacy technician at Rite-Aid. After graduation, she continued working for Rite-Aid as a floating pharmacist. She was promoted to Pharmacy Manager in 2017. When the store transitioned to a Walgreens in 2019, Carolyn stayed on and currently works as a Pharmacy Manager for Walgreens.

Chiara Evans
Chiara Evans, BS/MS Pharmaceutical Sciences '18

Chiara Evans is currently a PhD candidate in the Pharmacology program at Weill Cornell Medical College and an NIH NCI NRSA F31 Fellow. Chiara works in the Michael Kharas lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and studies the regulation of RNA-binding proteins and how this orchestrates the function of stem cells in normal and malignant hematopoiesis. She hopes to identify novel therapeutic strategies to treat leukemias and lymphomas with the eventual goal of working in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry. She also acts as a consultant for Project SHORT mentoring students from under-represented backgrounds to be successful in applying to PhD programs and FIND Genomics.

Nicolas James
Nicolas James, PharmD, MBA '20

After graduating from ACPHS with a PharmD and MBA in 2020, Nicolas (Nic) James joined UCB, Inc. in Atlanta, GA, for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship program, focused in Global Regulatory Affairs. Nic stayed on as a Regulatory Scientist for a brief time, and in March of 2023, joined Karuna Therapeutics as a Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs, developing the next generation of medicines for patients living with psychiatric diseases. He is passionate about the development of ACPHS students and the longevity of the College; he is also an avid golfer, and currently lives with his wife and two cats in their new home in central Connecticut.

Christina Lombardi
Christina Lombardi, PharmD ‘17

Christina Lombardi is the cancer care and research clinical pharmacist at St. Peter's Health Partners in Albany, NY. She completed her PGY1 residency at Baystate Medical Center and her PGY2 oncology/hematology residency at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.  She is a preceptor for PGY1 pharmacy residents and ACPHS students.  She is affiliated with the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA), American Society of Health-system Pharmacist (ASHP), and New York State Council of Health-System Pharmacist (NYSCHP).  Outside of pharmacy, she is a dance teacher, fitness instructor, and an active member of her church community.

Jeff MacDonald
Jeff MacDonald, PharmD ‘19

Jeff MacDonald is currently Associate Director, Global Regulatory Policy and Intelligence (GRPI) at BeiGene. He, and the GRPI team, deliver focused policy and intelligence analyses to inform innovative regulatory strategies for BeiGene development assets throughout the product lifecycle. Jeff joined BeiGene in Jun 2021 following two years in CMC Regulatory Sciences at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. At Regeneron, he led the submission strategy for multiple clinical stage oncology assets across the globe, including US, EU, Japan, and China.

Rachael Spina
Rachael Spina, BS Health and Human Sciences ‘17

After graduating from ACPHS, Rachael earned her Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2020 with a concentration in Tax Law. She is a practicing attorney in Connecticut at Cohen and Wolf, P.C. where she specializes in the areas of Tax Law and Trust & Estate Planning. She has been recognized as a Connecticut Super Lawyer “Rising Star” in both 2022 and 2023. In her free time, she serves on the Westport Farmers’ Market Board of Directors.

Rachel Wurth
Rachel Wurth, BS/MS Clinical Lab Sciences ‘19

Rachel Wurth is currently a PhD candidate in the Clinical and Translational Science Track at Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Rachel is conducting her thesis work in the clinical Biochemical Genetics Laboratory under the mentorship of Devin Oglesbee, PhD, where she is designing an untargeted metabolomics platform to characterize inborn errors of metabolism for the purpose of novel biomarker discovery. Through partnership with the clinical laboratory, Rachel aims to translate discovered biomarkers into novel diagnostic assays that can improve the detection, and prognostic monitoring of individuals with inborn errors of metabolism.
